Assessment ToolsParents are an important source of current and past information about their child. This information is essential for your healthcare professional to have in the initial assessment of your child. Assessment Tools are forms, checklists and rating scales that provide information about your child. Healthcare professionals evaluating children or adults for ADHD may request that parents complete one or more of these Assessment Tools. They include a childhood disorders checklist, a child and adolescent history form, ADHD rating scales, and other scales important in assessing ADHD and related disorders in children and adolescents. |
Treatment ToolsTreatment Tools are programs designed to teach specific skills to improve behavior, socialization and academic performance. Parents can use these tools at home and teachers can use them at school to encourage positive behavior, teach skills such as organization, reading comprehension, note taking, self-advocacy, etc. There are many treatment tools for children and adolescents available on MyADHD.com. These tools include: daily report cards for school work; home token economy programs; behavior charts; family communication exercises; anger management worksheets; study strategies activities to build reading comprehension, organization, test-taking, report writing, and listening skills; and many others. |
Tracking ToolsTracking Tools are brief forms, checklists and rating scales designed to monitor the progress of students who are receiving interventions and treatment. Healthcare professionals may request that educators and parents complete one or more Tracking Tools to evaluate the child’s progress in school and at home. Treatments and interventions can then be adjusted to achieve maximal improvement. The Weekly Monitoring Form by David Rabiner, for example, can be used to check on your child's progress in school both in terms of ADHD symptoms and academic performance. |
Library ToolsContained among the Library Tools are articles, audio programs, charts and other resources that parents can use to get a better understanding of ADHD.
